Terms and Conditions

JamNet — The Journalist and Media Network Effective Date: May 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or using JamNet ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. JamNet reserves the right to update these terms at any time; continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. About JamNet

JamNet is a curated, consent-based networking platform connecting journalists with PR professionals, brands, experts, and charities. It is not a media database, a mass-marketing tool, or a public directory. Access is by application and subject to approval.

3. User Accounts and Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account details up to date.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • JamNet reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at its discretion, including for misuse, misrepresentation, or violation of these terms.

4. Two Types of Members

Journalists may post editorial callouts describing their current assignments and what they are looking for (sources, samples, press stays, expert quotes, etc.). Participation is voluntary and opt-in.

PR, Brand, Expert, and Charity Members may view journalist callouts, respond when there is a relevant fit, and post press trip or FAM invitations. Access is limited and subject to JamNet's vetting process.

Neither member type is automatically added to a public directory, and contact information is not shared without the user's explicit participation.

5. Acceptable Use

By using JamNet, you agree not to:

  • Misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or purpose
  • Use the Platform for mass outreach, unsolicited marketing, or spam
  • Scrape, copy, or harvest user data or content from the Platform
  • Use automated tools, bots, or AI systems to generate or send responses
  • Share, sell, or distribute contact information obtained through the Platform
  • Post false, misleading, defamatory, or harmful content
  • Engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct toward other members
  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose

JamNet is built around consent and respect. Any behaviour that undermines that spirit may result in immediate removal.

6. Content

You retain ownership of content you post on JamNet (callouts, responses, profiles, etc.). By posting content, you grant JamNet a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content within the Platform for its intended purpose.

You are solely responsible for ensuring your content is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe on any third-party rights.

JamNet reserves the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be inappropriate.

7. Privacy

JamNet collects and uses personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Contact information is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

8. Platform Integrity

JamNet makes no guarantee of specific outcomes (placements, media coverage, press trip invitations, etc.). The Platform facilitates connection — it does not guarantee results.

JamNet is not responsible for any agreements, transactions, or disputes that arise between members outside of the Platform.

9. Intellectual Property

All Platform content, design, branding, and underlying technology is the property of JamNet and may not be reproduced, copied, or distributed without written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, JamNet is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of business, missed opportunities, or data loss.

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

11. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting us. JamNet may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, without notice or liability.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which JamNet operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
